# Coupons

**Coupons** let you offer discounts on your tickets - a percentage off, or a fixed amount off. Buyers enter the coupon code when they buy their tickets and the discount is applied at checkout.

To manage your coupons click **Coupons** in the [Dashboard](/event-dashboard/) sidebar. The page lists every coupon you have created, showing its name, the type and amount of discount, how many times it has been used against its usage limit, the events it applies to, its expiry date, and links to **Edit** or **Delete** it.

#### Creating a Coupon

Click **Add New Coupon** and fill in the form:

- **Coupon Name** - the code buyers type in. It is automatically prefixed with your Snappy ID, so if your code is SUMMER10 the actual coupon will be something like *23-SUMMER10* - this keeps it unique from other organisers' coupons
- **Discount Type** - how the discount is calculated (see below)
- **Coupon Amount** - just the number, eg 20 means £20 off or 20% off depending on the type
- **Coupon Expiry Date** - the last day the coupon can be used. Leave blank for no expiry
- **Usage Limit** - how many times the coupon can be used in total. Enter 0 (or leave blank) for unlimited use
- **Scope** - **Event** applies the coupon to any ticket for the event, **Ticket** lets you target specific tickets only
- **Match** - **Any** means the coupon works if the buyer has any of the targeted tickets in their basket, **All** means they must have all of them
- **Select Event / Select Tickets** - what the coupon applies to. Leave the event blank to make the coupon work on ALL your events, including future ones (you will be asked to confirm this when saving)

Click **Add Target Event** to add more events or ticket selections to the same coupon, and use the bin icon to remove a row.

#### Discount Types

- **Percent** - a percentage off the order total, eg 20 for 20% off
- **Fixed per Ticket** - a fixed amount off *per ticket* in the basket. Note this is per ticket, not per person - if a ticket admits several people the discount is still applied once per ticket
- **Fixed per Basket** - a fixed amount off the order total, applied once no matter how many tickets are bought

#### Editing and Deleting

Click **Edit** on a coupon in the list to change any of its settings. Click the **bin icon** and confirm to delete it - deleting only stops future use, it does not affect orders already placed with it.

The **Usage / Limit** column shows how many times each coupon has been redeemed, handy for seeing which promotions are working.

#### Good to Know

- Your coupons only work on **your** events - buyers cannot use them on another organiser's tickets
- Coupons are checked when the buyer checks out, so an expired or used-up coupon simply won't apply
- The discount shows in the **Order Discount** column on the [Event Orders](/docs/event-orders/) page
