SUMMARY:Find your voice – a singing therapy workshop for women
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to this gentle, nourishing half-day workshop at Laurelbank Farm — a seven-acre organic farm in County Down. This workshop is an invitation to use your voice — not to perform but to connect to yourself and to each other. We’ll gather with tea and biscuits before settling into an opening circle guided by Dr Aisling Quiery, drawing on the principles of Compassionate Inquiry to create a grounded, safe space where each person is welcome exactly as they are. From there, choir leader, performer and songwriter Una McCann will lead us through singing. Throughout the morning there will be mindfulness practices that invite you to bring awareness to any emotions or sensations that might arise, followed by a closing circle and a simple lunch of soup and salad. No singing experience or musical ability is required. Everything offered throughout the day is an invitation, and you are warmly encouraged to participate as much or as little as feels right for you. Whether you come for the singing, the company, or simply a few hours away to try something different — you are welcome here. About Dr Aisling QuieryAisling is an NHS GP with a background in addictions work, a Compassionate Inquiry Practitioner (Dr Gabor Maté’s psychotherapeutic approach) and a retreat facilitator. She lives on a small organic farm in County Down and co- facilitates Farm Therapy Programmes (Compassionate Inquiry with community farming/ growing for healing and wellness). She also leads Singing Circles and is interested in the power of the voice to connect to ourselves and each other. Aisling’s work goes beyond symptom management to support people to heal at a deeper level through connection to our bodies, our emotions, the present moment, the natural world and community.About Una McCannUna is a song-writer and singing leader based in Belfast. She has been leading groups in harmony since her school days and has been working professionally with adult choirs for 15 years.
