SUMMARY:Nollaig na mBan
DESCRIPTION:Come and gather as women and sisters to celebrate Nollaig na mBan, ‘Women’s Christmas’, born out of a time when women did most, if not all, of the Christmas labour. We meet on the 6th January to honour the end of Christmas, saving the last day for ourselves. We’ll break bread, sing and move, a chance to connect with other women and close the winter festivities properly. In honour of my late Irish Grandmother, Bernadette O’Donnell, and all the other women who laboured hard so we could have the best of it. And for ourselves and all the extra effort women make over the Christmas period. People may argue that the disparity no longer exists, I feel in most part it does, although not to the same degree. It is important to take time for ourselves.Nollaig na mBan takes place 7-9pm 6th January 2027
