We will begin by warming up the voice using the Indian classical scale Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa, grounding ourselves in breath, sound, and presence. From there, we will explore simple, accessible mantras, sung together with and without accompaniment — including guitar, harmonium, and moments of a cappella singing. Mantras will be repeated slowly and intentionally, allowing the voice to soften and open. Along the way, Dilraj will share the meanings, stories, and cultural roots behind the chants, offering depth and context to the practice. The day will close with a deeply meditative Indian classical sound bath, led by Dilraj’s partner, Sundeep, a trained Indian classical musician, playing the Dilruba — a rare and soulful bowed string instrument known for its evocative, heart-opening tones.DetailsVenue: New Unity, 277a Upper Street, N12TZNew Unity is an organisation that has fought for human rights since the 17th Century.
