Join dynamic choir leader Su Hart for a day of singing the songs of the Baka rainforest people of Central Africa.

Su lives in Bath in England. We have been friends and enjoyed singing together for many years through teaching together at various singing events. The last time Su came to Belfast was 2018 so I’m delighted to invite her back.

The beautiful interlocking sounds and joyous accessible rhythms of the Baka people are fun and easy to learn. Su has been initiated by the Baka women to share this singing. Thought to be the first humans to sing, the Baka singing is believed to help build community, heal illness and argument, soothe babies and enchant the forest animals ensuring luck in the hunt. All songs are taught in a fun and inclusive way (no sheet music). Experienced and beginner singers welcome.

A percentage of profits from this event will go back to the Baka for projects in the forest through the charity Global Music Exchange.

4 months’ notice – 25% of total booking
3 months’ notice – 40% of total booking
2 months’ notice – 75% of total booking
1 months’ notice – 90% of total booking
Less than 1 months’ notice – 100% of the total booking charge

No refunds can be made if you cancel later than this date or leave the event after its commencement.As the event organiser, Una McCann reserves the right to cancel the event at any time. In this case you will be entitled to a full refund.Financial ProtectionIt is recommended that each person coming to an event should take out personal travel insurance and so, if you need to cancel, you will receive a full refund from your travel insurance company.My Responsibility to You1) Una McCann promises to ensure that the arrangements that she has agreed to perform or provide as part of the contract with you are performed or provided with reasonable skill and care.2) Una McCann will not be responsible for any injury, illness, death, loss of possessions or enjoyment, damage, expense, cost or of any description whatsoever which results from any of the following:

The act(s) and/or omission(s) of the person(s) affected
The act(s) and/or omission(s) of a third party not connected with the provision of the event and which were unforeseeable or unavoidable
Unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances.

3) Una McCann does not accept responsibility for any services which do not form part of the event. This includes additional services, activities or facilities which the accommodation provider or any other supplier agrees to provide for you. This also includes any excursion, activities or other services you engage with during the event.Special Dietary Requests Any dietary requests must be made at the time of booking.Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free will be accommodated as standard. These requests do not require additional confirmation. This information must be included in your booking application.Any additional Special Dietary Requests will be passed on to the relevant catering supplier. No request, additional to the above, will be met unless I have specifically confirmed this in writing once I have had confirmation from the suppliers.Medical ConditionsAll participants must give full details in writing at the time of booking of any medical condition or disability which may affect you during the event, or any special requirements you may have as a result of any medical condition or disability. You must also promptly advise Una McCann if any medical condition or disability which may affect your enjoyment and interaction at the event, develops after your booking has been confirmed.Unacceptable BehaviourUna McCann reserves the right to request that an individual leaves the event if their behaviour is deemed to be inappropriate or unacceptable. This is at the discretion of Una McCann and all related charges will be non-refundable.Una McCann will have no further responsibility toward this person including any return travel arrangements. Full payment for any damage or losses must be paid directly to the accommodation supplier prior to departure.PhotographyBy agreeing to these T&C you are giving your consent for any images or recordings made during the event to be used freely and without payment in promotional and publicity material by Una McCann. You can make Una McCann aware if you do not wish to be videoed/ photographed.Video and sound RecordingsVideo and sound recordings by attendees of the event are not permitted during sessions although participants are welcome to take still photographs with the permission of the other participants.AmendmentsUna McCann reserves the right to change details of the advertised programme where this is unavoidable.JurisdictionThese Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Northern Ireland. Any dispute arising under these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court of Northern Ireland.
