Salty Women’s Sea Kayak Festival 2025 | |
This festival is all about supporting each other, growing confidence and gaining skills on the water, having fun and meeting new friends. The coaches team of 10 fabulous female coaches has a truly impressive wealth of experience and range of skills.
If you don’t know this coastline, you are in for a treat, it’s full of marine caves, beautiful hidden beaches and wildlife. Pembrokeshire is unique in having it’s entire coastline as a protected National Park since the 1950’s. In September we will see plenty of seal cubs and need to be careful choosing a place to land for our picnics.
Last year we had some pretty wild weather, we did get paddling, but on we switched to indoor navigation and tidal planning skills and checking them later against what we could see in Ramsey sound later in the day. Another group looked at marine biology while beachcombing.
This event has options for skills workshops, journeying, exploring marine wildlife, wild rock-hopping, dynamic water and navigation skills and more. Throughout the event, plans will be flexible with the weather conditions and peoples energy levels.
While this event is open to all skills levels, beginners to advanced, you will need to bring a sea kayak and all the kit that goes with it. Be ready to be physically active for 3 days.
We will be based on a campsite, still working on which one. You will need to book your own pitch. Accommodation and food is not included in the event fee.
