North Shore Night #2 – Jemima Thewes + Scott Gordon
North Shore Night #2 – Jemima Thewes + Scott Gordon
North Shore Nights is a fledgling live music event hosting friendly, diverse and unexpected gigs in the heart of Aberdour Harbour.
We are excited to welcome two musicians to the boat club! Jemima Thewes and Scott Gordon.
Jemima Thewes

Jemima Thewes is a singer and songwriter rooted in folk, shaped by a distinctive experimental edge. Known for her haunting interpretations of ancient ballads alongside original compositions, her work blends intimacy with a stark, elemental intensity.
Her debut album received 4* from Songlines magazine, which described it as ‘dark and arresting…almost numinous.’ Roseanne Cash praised her as ‘a beautiful voice with a great, original style.’
Jemima’s music moves between darkness, irony and flashed of joy, carried by an undertone of warmth and light.

Scott Gordon

Based in Fife, Scott Gordon has been creating and experimenting with sound and music since the early 2000s. His early work centred on AV installation and design before he began moving onto experimental, beat-driven music under the alias Loops Haunt and as OTO HIAX with Mark Clifford (Seefeel). Under his own name, he has released the LP Metals (2025) on Diagonal, alongside a string of self-published tapes on his HIAX imprint. Metals was constructed using a set of vertically hung 2m electro-mechanical rotating steel bars and a customised Yamaha DX7.
Electro-acoustic techniques and physical sound design have been central to Gordon’s recent works, including his 2024 album Radial – composed using a custom electro-acoustic texture sequencer – and SKIM (Superpang) (2025), which blends synthesised data taken from power tools pushed to the point of self-destruction.
In 2018, he joined Cupar Grain Silo as a trustee, a disused 250ft structure from which he has initiated the recent SiloSessions, a series of live, improvised, reverb-based performances. Working from a shared studio workshop with fellow artist Adrian Murray, Scott continues to develop audio installations, instrument design, and music released via Diagonal, Editions Mego, Superpang, WildRaver, and HIAX.
