Fairport Convention’s Ric Sanders & Vo Fletcher plus special guests @ The Music Rooms at Airfield Studios, St Merryn

This is a special concert at a brand new venue on the site of the prestigious Airfield Studios at St Merryn Airfield, run in collaboration with Jo Partridge.

We plan to record and possibly live stream this concert while Ric and Vo play to an intimate audience with support from some special guests, including Mike Silver and Charlie Noordewier! The Music Room at Airfield Studios has state of the art sound equipment, seating, a foyer, and an area where soft drinks and hot drinks will be available. You may bring alcoholic drinks with you if you wish.

Ric Sanders has been the violinist with Fairport Convention since 1985, touring the world with them and contributing many instrumentals and arrangements which have become fixtures in their repertoire. Prior to Fairport he played in the seminal British jazz-rock group Soft Machine. Over the years he has worked with many artists including Jethro Tull, Roy Harper, Rick Wakeman, Gordon Giltrap, and Nik Kershaw.

Each August Fairport stage their own festival in the Oxfordshire village of Cropredy, an event which now attracts an audience of twenty thousand.

Vo Fletcher’s association with Ric goes back many years, and together they have played in many different musical settings. Vo has written extensively for television and has been much involved in educational music. He has worked both in the studio and live with artists as diverse as Rik Mayall and Nigel Kennedy (just to keep Ric on his toes!).

Together Ric and Vo play a greatly varied repertoire of songs and instrumentals drawing from their vast and eclectic music experiences.

Mike Silver

Mike Silver is an outstanding British folk singer-songwriter, based in Cornwall, and a living legend on the UK folk circuit. With over five decades of music-making behind him. Inspired by the folk clubs of London and Cornwall, Mike developed a fingerstyle guitar approach that blends folk, blues, rock, and country into something truly unique and magical.

He was among the first artists signed to Elton John’s Rocket Records, toured the US supporting Dory Previn, and even had a song picked up by Moody Blues frontman Justin Hayward. Mike remains a much-loved presence on the UK folk circuit. He’s a genuine troubadour in every sense of the word.

Charlie Noordewier

Charlie Noordewier is a folk singer-songwriter born and raised on the edges of Devon’s Dartmoor, whose music weaves together folk, blues, and soul into something distinctly his own. Known for his introspective lyrics and captivating live performances, Charlie has been quietly building a reputation as one of the most compelling emerging voices in British folk.

He toured Europe with The Native and recorded at Sam Fender’s studio, and his star continues to rise, most recently releasing his latest single Little Miss Sunshine ahead of a support slot for Sam Fender at his 40,000-capacity show at Wythenshawe Park in Manchester.
