‘Camp Bach’ is Welsh for ‘Small Camp’. There will be singing, camp fires, river dipping, a chance to hang out and did I mention…SINGING!

Camp Bach was born in 2021 in response to the need to be together and sing, but also be cautious about staying outside because of Covid. We realised that, when it comes to camping and singing, SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL! So we did it again in 2023 and 2024 and now we just can’t imagine a summer without our lovely Camp Bach.

The camp will be approx 85-95 people and we have 2 fields to camp in, one will be very spaciously separated tents and the other has tents and campervans in a bit of a squidge. We can cook on an open fire if we want to…or use the kitchen with a gas hob and microwave!! There are wonderful hot showers. There is a central fire every night and we all gather round it. Small low chairs are the most sociable! If the weather turns mean, we use the barn for just about everything.

THE BARN – There is a fabulous barn to sing in with generous acoustics and the site is utterly stunningly beautiful with a river running through it that has an absolutely magical swimming area. Our hosts are Barney and Charlotte and they love the singing and the singers, the way we are with each other and our ability to create community.

There will be at least 5 teachers: Roxane Smith,  Ali Burns and Jamie Dawes and Molara Awen and another leader tbc. So, you know there will be plenty of high quality harmony workshops to attend. As before -there is only ever one workshop at any time.

There will also be the chance for other fringe/bonus events that YOU can create!

There will be kids events organised for 3-4 sessions mornings or afternoons. Parents and Carers can organise things the rest of the time.

There will be optional yoga or tai chi to start the day and an informal cabaret (often very silly and hilarious) near the end of the week.

Ticket prices:

Adult and tent is £185, If you are sharing the tent, the second person pays £155 and kids/teens £35 under 5’s are free.
As I mentioned, the space can be a bit limited in the campervan field and so I am going to charge for awnings/gazebos. Assuming a gang of folks will be sharing the resource, there will be a £20 charge for awnings.
There is a £20 discount if you are a member of the NVN, please get in touch and I will send you a ‘secret code’! Who doesn’t love a ‘secret code’.
In exchange there is some hope that you would help lead some singing round the camp fire! But no-one will hold you to this.

Camping in Circles/coming in groups of friends. This is of course going to happen, and it’s great that groups of friends meet up in this way. There has been some feedback that circles are lovely if you are in one, and can be a bit wierd if you are not. I am going to suggest we go for a looser feel and have horseshoes if you do want to camp near/with your mates. This way, there is always an easy way in (and out!!).
