Amersham A Cappella invite you to purchase your ticket for an exclusive event, as they fundraise to go to the Barbershop Harmony Society convention in Denver, Colorado!

Join the chorus for a day of fun, frivolity and singing as we learn Dua Lipa’s ‘Dance the night’ from the Barbie movie, performed in our inimitable style.

Participants will receive sheet music (electronic) and teach tracks for a brand new arrangement. The day will consist of vocal warm ups in the Amersham style with AMD, Boo de Bruin, expert direction and coaching from our illustrious MD, Helen Lappert, and the AAC music team, and a performance package perfected by our very own Flash Watson.

Come see why Amersham can’t stop smiling on the risers, and take away a song that is sure to get audience toes tapping. The day will conclude with a short informal performance, in which quartets and chorus groups are invited to perform a song for other participants.

Tickets are available at the following levels:

Bronze: Workshop entry, including access to sheet music and your part’s teach tracks

Silver: Workshop entry and £5 of tickets to our fabulous raffle

Gold: Workshop entry and a copy of the beautiful Amersham A Cappella recipe book, retailing at £10

Event FAQs

Where is the venue for the workshop?

Our venue for the day will be Cressex Community School, Holmers Lane, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP12 4QA. This is just off the M40, and - we hope - quite accessible for all!

What are the timings for the day?

The venue will be open from 10:30am for tea / coffee / cake, and we will then kick off with warm up at 11am, to allow those coming from further afield a chance to get to us, and finish with a performance due to end at 5pm.

Who will perform in the informal concert?

To finish off the day, Amersham A Cappella will sing a short set, followed by any ensembles who have expressed an interest, finishing up with a final run through of Dance the night.

We are excited to have representatives of 26 choruses and a number of quartets with us, and we're hoping that lots of them will also want to give us a song! We will be in touch nearer the time to confirm with anybody who has expressed an interest.

What are the catering arrangements?

Unfortunately, this is not a catered event, so please do come with your lunch box! Tea and coffee will be available (but we would be eternally grateful if you could bring your own mug to make our event more sustainable!) Cake will be available for purchase.

How do I get the music and tracks for the event?

Everybody who purchases a ticket before Saturday 23rd November will be forwarded the sheet music and tracks for their part on this day. Subsequent rounds of forwarding will happen at regular intervals. (Please be aware that this is not an automatic process, and while we will be as speedy as we can, you may need to wait a day or two!)
