Creative Croydon is holding two Nature based Fun Palaces in Croydon, sessions where adults and teens can come to share skills and have new creative experiences while enjoying nature.
Free funded by National Lottery heritage fund. Part of This is Croydon Year of Culture.
Oct 7th Frylands Scout camp. Adults and teens (accompanied) welcome
Afternoon 3-6 pm Nature skills sharing, bushcraft, relaxation , nature crafts with Go Wild with us CIC leader Suzy Strudwick.
Includes optional Woodland walk and/or Parkbathe session – sense based mindful approach to urban Forest bathing. Part of a citizen science project. Anyone can enjoy this. ‘Parkbathe’ is a slow, silent stroll through urban spaces, getting into our senses and out of our heads. The ParkBathe citizen science study saw a 40% reduction in anxiety so come and enjoy nature connection and de-stress with a friendly group
Evening 6 pm forage for campfire, group cooking, and eat together followed by campfire chat, stories and songs. Led by community musician Catherine Pestano. Bring your instrument or party piece (optional).
Ends 9 pm
Come to part or all of the event. Lifts can be arranged to pick up from public transport so don’t let that be a barrier. All levels of experience welcome. Please do not bring alcohol to this event. We will get high on life!
