Sacred Song – November | |
This is a singing workshop for anyone who enjoys singing with others or is keen to try. It is part of a repertoire of regular events offered by Heart & Soul Community Singers in Chester. We are regular people who just enjoy joining our voices to make a beautiful noise.
In our Sacred Song sessions we sing songs in 3 and 4 part harmony to create a ‘cathedral of sound’, intentionally co-creating our own sacred space. This space dissolves from around us once the song ends but continues within us to nourish and support us. Songs are sourced from various places and people including Findhorn, Iona, Nickomo Clarke’s Harmonic Temple and many others. They draw on many faith traditions including Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Hindu and Pagan as well as including non-religious songs that speak to our shared life experiences such as birth and death.
All songs are taught by ear and you don’t have to read music. We sing for our own enjoyment rather than to perfrm to anyone else.
