Sing and Mend for Water | |
I remember when I was a small child that when we got home from school my grandmother Edith would teach us game after game and she would mend and mend, mending things that these days would just get thrown away.
In this hour long workshop, we will sing songs in harmony while we mend things. Bring something you want to mend or make work better, like a broken jug that needs glueing or a motorbike that needs repair, or an inner tube that needs changing on your bicycle, or a bag that needs the handle sewing back onto it, or the reorganisation of a cupboard or a filing cabinet, or some pencils that need sharpening, or walking boots that need cleaning after a muddy day out, or anything else you want to mend or anything you want to make work better.
I personally consider myself rather messy at mending and often need to ask for help, so please know that there is no need to be good with your hands to attend this workshop.
We’ll start briefly in small groups sharing what we want to mend and then we’ll spend the time singing while we mend. I’ll be teaching songs and providing some tracks to sing along to whilst doing some mending myself.
At the end we’ll briefly go back into our small groups to share how we have got on with the mending (and the singing!)
