The Salts are one of the most exciting and energetic folk bands in the UK today, blending well-crafted original compositions with their unique interpretations of traditional songs. Fronted by BBC Dragon’s Den contestant Lee Collinson, this talented five-piece band creates an infectious energy with their mix of instruments, dynamic harmonies, and vibrant stage presence.
Described as “21st-century folk firing a respectful broadside at the traditional,” The Salts have carved out a distinctive sound that guarantees to get audiences singing and dancing along. Their debut album She Rises, followed by BRAVE and the latest live release LIVE IN LONDON TOWN, have all received critical acclaim. As Mike Harding of The Mike Harding Folk Show puts it, their music is “incredibly gutsy stuff with a big sound.”
Having wowed crowds at events such as Costa del Folk 2022, where BBC’s Tim Walker called them “outstandingly brilliant,” The Salts continue to bring their high-energy performances to venues across the country.

Event FAQs
There is a very small public car park in front of the gates. The Eagle house private car park is off Castle Hill and you can access it by driving past the front of the hotel, towards the Castle gates and take a sharp left up the hill or via Castle Street. If the car park is full, there is another public car park at the top of Castle Street and also at Westgate Street multi storey which is just a short walk through the castle grounds.
Please only purchase a 'member' ticket if you have paid for your 2024/2025 folk club membership which renews on the 21st of September each year. Ticket holders will be required to give their name on the door at events. There will be a member list on the door with your name on it, if you are a member. Membership of the facebook group, is not the same as a paid folk club membership.
You can join the folk club on the door at any folk club event. When you purchase tickets on the door with membership, you will be charged the member priced tickets.
