“Write a screenplay in Four weeks” Writing dynamic, extraordinary, makable films.

This online course will begin on Sunday 2nd to Sunday 23rd February 2025, 7pm until 9pm.

Deva will be there from 6.30pm in case anyone wants some one to one time.

Session 1. THE STORY and YOUR FILMS – Storytelling with moving images. Writing the log-line and treatment.
Especially in the first session, for the second hour I’ll be finding out about the different screenplays each of you want to write and how I can support you in doing that.
Session 1. HOMEWORK – Write the log-line and treatment of your film.

Session 2. Five Act Structure. We’ll look at five act structure of different films and also discuss the five act structure of your film.
Session 2. HOMEWORK – Sketch out a visually driven story in five acts. Begin writing your screenplay.

Session 3. Writing great dialogue. We’ll look at different writers and the way they write dialogue. We’ll take a look at the dialogue in everyone’s screenplay.
Session 3. HOMEWORK – Hone up the dialogue of your screenplay.

Session 4. Screenplays with scope. Writing big. We’ll be focusing on themes and how to amplify these in the five act structure of your film.
We’ll read each other’s screenplays in the session and speak about how we can make these screenplays into films.
Session 4. HOMEWORK – Hone your screenplay so you can make it into a film. Write to make.
