This tab sets up the overall details of your event including the category, image, venue (including map) and description

Event title #

This is the title of your event. This can be anything you like but make it descriptive of what your event actually is. If this is going to be part of a repeated event then include a distinguishing keyword that can be changed for future events, eg Summer Sizzler – 2025, Summer Sizzler – 2026.

The event title is used as part of the generated URL (slug) of the event, so Summer Sizzler 2025 will become snappytickets.co.uk/event/summer-sizzler-2025.

If you change the name of the event after creating it then the URL and any links already created for the event WILL NOT CHANGE.

Event Slug #

The event slug is the last part of the URL, eg summer-sizzler-2025. This is autogenerated from the Event Name. Sometimes you may want to change the slug to something more memorable, especially if you have duplicated the event from another event.

By default the Event Slug is readonly, but you can change it by first ticking the Edit Slug checkbox. This will then let you modify the slug.

Slugs need to be unique on the website so if you try and give it a name that already exists it will append the slug name with a number to set it apart from the slug that already exists, eg summer-sizzler-2025-2.

Event Category #

This is a dropdown of event caterogies. Choose the one(s) that fit your event the best. If there isn’t a category that best describes your event then contact me and I will add it for you.

You can add multiple categories, just keep selecting categories from the dropdown list.

Online Event #

If this is an online event then the venue fields become hidden and the map is disabled.

Venue Details #

Select your venue from the list of venues already set up in the Venues dropdown. You must have already set up a venue in your dashboard for it to show in this list. If you haven’t yet setup this venue you can create it here by clicking the

Click to create a new Venue

Once you click the above button a popup will appear prompting you to enter all the venue details including address, image, description, contact details etc. These get displayed on the event listing to give users further details about the venue.

BUG: If you create an event by clicking the above button, it doesn’t immediately get added to the dropdown. You need to save and reload the event for it to show up in the dropdown.

Once the venue is selected then all the following fields will be filled in for you inlcluding Zip Code, Event Location, Event Country and Map Co-ordinates.

Map Coordinates #

The google map is generated from the Venue address so make sure you enter those details correctly. If the details are correct, but the map is incorrect, then you can override the map the using the Map Coordinates option. Find the exact location within google maps, click the map so it shows the location of the dropped pin.

Just copy the co-ordinates shown here 51.232382, -2.321266 into the box and google maps will show the location of the dropped pin.

Event Banner #

This is your main event image. It works best if the image is landscape, though portrait images will work too. The image size is restricted to 256KB which is big enough for a good quality banner. If your image is larger than this then there are plenty of online image resizers. I recommend using Resizepixel.com.

To load an image click the Select Image button which opens up the media library. If you are reusing an image already uploaded then just select it. If you are loading a new image then you can either drag your image into the library and then select it, or you click the Upload Files tab at the top left to upload the image from your computer.

Description #

This is the main text of your event. Provide enough information to your audience to grab their attention. You have a full set of formatting tools available in the editor and can include photos and media links too.

Video URL #

If you have an external video on vimeo or youtube then include the URL here.
