Sea Birds & Salty Dogs, 2026

This event is open to anyone over 18. We welcome beginners all the way through to advanced tide race paddlers and extreme rock-hoppers. You should expect to be exerting yourself for 3 days, but even so, there’s always help at hand if you can’t carry or lift your end of the kayak.

This event is about having fun while supporting each others development. The coaches team has a combination of highly experienced and qualified local sea kayak coaches, and the younger ever qualified leader at 16, all the way from Scotland.

Pembrokeshire boasts 75 years of protecting her coastline as a national park. As a result there are many rare plants, and creatures. In the autumn we will see tiny newborn seal cubs, which can make landing tricky, but the juveniles will want to come out and play with us! There’s a huge gannet colony, peregrine falcons, while razor bills and guillemots are more common than pigeons in some places.

This coast is fabulous, riddled with caves and beautiful quartz beaches where the clear water looks tropical. Islands with big tunnels and caves, some notorious tide races and spectacular headlands.

There’s something for everyone, and it should be said that there are some lovely sheltered stretches too. If we have adverse weather we will run some indoor workshops, so far we haven’t had to cancel.

We can hire out sea kayaks, buoyancy aid, helmets, spray decks and paddles and dry cags. The dry cags are open necked so it might be a good idea to get a wetsuit, no sleaves and long legs would work best.
After you have completed your booking here you must pay via BACS to complete your booking – details are on the booking form.
Next step is booking your pitch on the campsite. You will receive an email with a link to the campsite once you have transferred the ticket fee. If you book any other way the campsite have no way of knowing if you are part of the event, plus you will pay more via an agent. Please use this to book a pitch anywhere in the Lower Farm house field and say that you are with the kayak festival.
Celtic Camping is a big campsite with several fields. You will need to register before 5pm on Thursday night in the yard above the farm buildings.
We will be using the farmhouse field, follow the lane to the right of the buildings and we are in the first field on the left, directly below the farmhouse.
We have access to a large communal kitchen area which has sinks, microwaves, toasters, and a tumble-dryer. You will need all your own plates, bowls and cutlery.
We also have access to a meeting room upstairs, this is reserved for the coaching team, but we will be asking you to join us up there at 9am every morning for a group meeting.
There is also a Red Bull Barn where we will have live music on Saturday night after a big group meal in the communal kitchen.
