Own the Stage: Beat Performance Anxiety

You know the feeling… tight shoulders, clammy hands, that shaky breath just before you begin. The voice in your head whispers, “What if I mess this up?”
For some, it’s a passing flicker. For others, it’s enough to hold you back completely.

This workshop is here to help you break through that barrier, so that you can ‘perform’ with confidence.

Performance anxiety looks different for everyone. In this relaxed, supportive group, you’ll explore what shows up for you when the pressure’s on and learn practical ways to handle it.

Sound familiar?

  • “Am I actually good enough?”
  • “What will people think?”
  • “What if it all goes wrong?”

You’re not the only one. Through open, informal conversation, we’ll gently unpack where these thoughts come from, and what to do with them.

In this session, we’ll:

  • Understand what performance anxiety is and why it affects us
  • Learn simple, effective calming techniques rooted in psychology
  • Share experiences and insights in a supportive group setting
  • Shift your mindset towards confidence and self-compassion

Who is it for?

  • Musicians, Poets, Artists
  • Public Speakers
  • Interview candidates
  • Anyone who needs to speak or perform in some way in front of others

Everyone is welcome. (Under 18s should be accompanied by an adult.)

There’s no pressure here, you can join in as much or as little as you like. There’s absolutely no obligation to perform.

If you are a musician, bring your instrument and a piece you enjoy (all styles and levels welcome), if you speak or perform in any other way, bring a piece to read or recite. After learning some practical tools, there will be an optional chance to play in front of the group, at your own pace, if you feel you want to.

Got any questions? Just reach out, we’d love to hear from you.
