London 1958
A story which began with Abigail Mathew wanting to find the reasons for the lost love and the separation of her grandparents, Brian and Monika Mathew, née Hellmeister.
She returns to the beginning in London of the 1950s. A time of cultural change, youth rebellion and gang fights.
In the north of the city, around Seven Sister’s Road, Holloway, her grandfather Brian Mathew spent his childhood and youth.
A time of deprivation and change. A sentimental journey to the difficult post war era.
The documentary opens up a time of radical changes and includes the memories of the five childhood friends who never lost touch over the decades.
The end of their carefree, devil may care time is also included: a brawl in which police officer Raymond H. Summers was killed and Ronald H. Marwood was convicted as a murderer and executed in May of 1959.
With original footage, interviews, and dramatized scenes it tells their story.
We were able to secure the help of actor Peter Dean (Eastenders) and the once famous model Maureen Flanagan, who also took part in the film, and others eyewitnesses of the time for our film.
The documentary is a declaration of love to the post-war generation and a homage to friendship!
