Bristol Still We Sing
There’s a special kind of tonic in gathering to sing. Throughout turbulent histories, across time and cultures, people have known and lived by it…and continue to.
Here’s an invitaion to gather voices in recognition of the polarising and fretful times we’re living. To respond together with the crafting of beauty-soaked, heart-full encounters, stirring something of a human and culture making spirit within a rich basket of harmonies and lyrics responding to the world and histories we’re part of.
May it be that our instrumental bodies and hearts be loosened and nourished with enough sustenance to bolster our resolve to cherish Life with gratitude and reciprocity, and to carry renewed strength to our homes and wider communities.
Whatever your singing experience or ability, your voice is tenderly welcomed and valued. Songs are taught by ear with warmth, encouragement and repetition – learning through listening. Every voice matters in making a shared exprience without judgement, competition or criticism.
There’ll be a break mid session with tea/coffee provided.
Tickets come with sliding scales. The examples are indications only – edges are squishy, use your own judgement. I won’t ask questions, I trust your integrity. If you need to claim a bursary place (free or your chosen amount), thank you. I’m sorry your situation requires it and I’m glad you can join us. If you can’t come in the end, please do let me know so your place can be available to someone else.
Please note, it’s a HUGE support to my cashflow and event preparations when tickets are booked in advance. Many organisers financially incentivise advance booking. I prefer not to as I feel it still adds strain to those with tight cash flow or those in care roles who can’t depend on support (for example). If you’re able, please do support me to maintain this approach by booking in advance.
