Pub Folk Carols Workshop
Come and learn some folk carols, including some from the West Gallery tradition, which for the past 200 years have been sung in pubs and folk clubs and in the streets of certain Northern (and Cornish!) towns and villages. All songs will be taught by ear with two experienced song leaders.
Sarah Jessop has been leading singing with community groups for many years and runs Song Circle, a weekly Wednesday lunchtime session at GSVH. Ella Speirs has also been leading groups in harmony singing for over 20 years and currently leads Heart and Soul Community Singers in Chester and Wrexham All Voices Community Choir. Both are members of the Natural Voice Network.
This is a stand alone workshop but there will also be a pub carol singing session where these songs and others will be sung on Tuesday 16 December at The Bird In Hand pub from 7.30pm.
