Sing for Medicine 16th November
A joyous day of unaccompanied singing of World songs, and a charity fundraiser: proceeds will go to Medical Aid for Palestinians. This is the seventh event we have led in Taunton, and people always leave on a high!
The day is led by four popular Somerset community choir leaders Claire Anstee, Catherine Mowat, Claire Stronach and Jon Conway, who will each lead a singing part, and it ends with a small informal concert to family and friends. Please bring some lunch to share – this makes a sumptuous spread! – and warm clothes as we will be ventilating the hall with some open windows.
All welcome – new and experienced singers alike.
Medical Aid for Palestinians is a UK registered charity does the equivalent work of Medecins sans Frontieres, but focussed in the Palestinian territories including Gaza.
Full price ticket is £30. Concession is £20 (for children, or those who really don’t think they can afford £30 – being retired in itself doesn’t qualify for concession). For more info about the day, or for queries, please see Sing for Medicine | sing from the heart.

Catherine has been involved in music all her life. Inspired by her desire to create community that music can bring, she started running Wood Street Community Choir in Taunton 14 years ago, a choir open to all comers.
She also ran a monthly workshop for several years focussed on group improvisation, and runs one-off workshops. She has a gentle, inclusive style of leading singing groups, and likes to help people to improve their technique as well as feel the joy from singing World songs together.
