Norwich singing workshop with Nicholas Williams

32 32 people viewed this event.
We are delighted to welcome versatile and sought-after singing leader and musician Nicholas Williams to Norwich for a singing workshop. Based in Québec (Canada), he has been deeply immersed in the traditional music and songs of Québec, Ireland, Scotland and Sweden for over 20 years, and is especially interested in the intersection of song, music, and dance.

Come and enjoy a relaxed and varied day of singing, possibly with a little (entirely optional) dancing. Everything will be taught by ear, beginners and experienced singers are equally welcome.

***Refreshments provided, BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH***

Here is an excerpt of Nicholas’s arrangement of traditional Québecois song « Marion’s les roses »:

FAQ

PLEASE NOTE: There is no car park at the venue itself. Park Lane Chapel (referred to as ‘Former Swedenborgian Chapel’ on Google Maps) is 20 minutes walk from Norwich bus station (Surrey Street) and 40 minutes walk from the railway station (Thorpe Road). Nearby Unthank Road and Earlham Road are served by several bus routes including 25, 26 & 26A.

There are no parking permit restrictions on Sundays on Park Lane and surrounding streets, however on-street parking may be limited as it is a residential area. The nearest car parks are Q-Park Chantry Place (multi-storey) and Barn Road (surface, pay & display) which are ~10 to 15 minutes walk from Park Lane.
