Singing Workshop with VAL REGAN
VAL REGAN has worked as a community musician since 1993. She leads choirs and singing workshops throughout the U.K. alongside composition and theatre projects. Her work includes two Sony Award-winning productions for BBC Radio Four, commissions from The Joseph Rowntree Foundation and The Open University and the musical Gwenda’s Garage.
Val has led singing workshops in Australia, Norway, Germany, Romania and Cuba and leads regular choirs in Sheffield. One of these is the 70 strong LGBTQ+ choir Out Aloud, which she co-founded and which has performed in Paris, London, Dublin, Bologna and Rotherham!
Val brings boundless energy and enthusiasm to every event she leads and will engage experienced and new singers alike. The workshop will be taught by ear, with no in-depth musical knowledge necessary. Val will teach a selection of her own recent songs and singers can expect to come away with a spring in their step and song in their heart. All learning materials will be provided.
There will be a shared lunch, to which you are invited to contribute, and drinks will be provided.
The workshop is hosted by Sheffield Socialist Choir https://socialistchoir.org.uk
