John is one of the most prolific figures on the English folk scene, performing solo, in duos, acoustic groups and electric bands, and has established an enviable reputation as an instrumental virtuoso (melodeon, Anglo concertina and button accordion), as well as a leading interpreter of English folk music. As songwriter, composer, choreographer, and musical director, he has contributed to over sixty plays in the theatre and on radio. And as featured artiste, band member, or session player, his music can be heard on over 200 different commercial recordings.

SING FOR WATER ABERYSTWYTH 2025 will be held on Saturday July 19th 2025. A large choir of over 150 participants will sing 5 songs together, and then individual choirs will perform their songs.

This event is raising funds for WATERAID, a charity that provides clean water for communities throughout the world that have none.

You are invited to participate in the community chorus of Seeds of Hope: A Feminist Requiem which will be coming to Sheffield in September 2025. The requiem was written by Penny Stone in memory of her amazing feminist mum, Sue Stone, and brings together the words of women from all over the world, spanning from 575 CE until the present day. There is space in this piece for singing and listening, for sadness and joy, and for connection as well as time spent with our own individual feelings.

Christine Collister is a magical live performer, with her gravity defying voice, assured and impressive live performances and great personal charm has become a familiar and popular name on the ‘live’ scene including major international festivals from Glastonbury to Cambridge, Winnipeg to Port Fairey.  Over her 40 year career, Christine  has released 24 albums, a DVD celebrating 20 years in the business and an acclaimed single with the BBC: the theme tune for “The Life and Loves of a She-Devil” in 1987.

Jim Causley is a folk-singer, award winning songwriter, musician, proud Devonian and all-round entertainer. He grew up in a wassailing village not far from Sidmouth Folk Festival, sang with Wren Music before heading to Newcastle University to study on their brand new degree course in Folk & Traditional Music. He rose to prominence singing with The Devil’s Interval and Mawkin:Causley as well as touring with Waterson:Carthy and David Rotheray. In recent years his work has focused on his musical settings of poems by his relative Charles Causley, penning his own songs and reviving lost gems from his home county.
